I'm planning to volunteer at this year's convention (like usual). So far, none of the folks I usually work with have contacted me. So, who wants me?
Mr. Shirt?
Handicap Access?
Ops?
Elaine?
Hugo Awards?
Anybody?

I sent email to the techno-fandom list and haven't heard back. Other than that, there doesn't seem to be much communication for this WorldCon, these forums seem to be pretty useless.
Too bad. Maybe I'll just attend.

The TF list isn't an official Worldcon (any year) list, and an offer of volunteering there may have been misinterpreted as a particular department, and the people running some of the other departments you mentioned here might not be represented. And in some cases, the people you mentioned may have already been in the process of travelling to California and may not have seen your interest.
In case you haven't left yet, or even if you see this during your trip or after you arrive, please contact the volunteer department with your interest and availability. _________________ Sharon Sbarsky

A while back, I did receive a general query from the LA CON IV Volunteer Coordinator (I had sent in a volunteer form by the USnail). I replied, but no peep have I heard since
I do plan to arrive midday Tuesday.. Will there be useful Gopherish tasks needing generic gophers?
If so, to where should I scamper? |

Yes, of course! There will be a volunteer desk in the Convention Center that will be coordinating all of the gopher needs.
We especially need people during setup and teardown and will be offering double gopher hours. Please see the volunteer desk for details. _________________ Sharon Sbarsky
