L.A.con IV

PARTY ICE ANNOUNCEMENT

The Party Maven team will be helping to supply parties with ice at L.A.con IV. We are doing this because party hosts asked and because we believe we can save everyone time and money this way, particularly because the delivery will be coordinated and the delivery cost shared. We will provide this service on the main days of Worldcon, i.e. from the 23rd through the 27th.

PRICE
We will be using Orange County Ice who are close to the party hotel and come highly recommended. The price will be $11 per 50 gallon bag of ice cubes (their base price plus taxes, a share of the delivery cost and a stipend for tips).

ORDERING
Ice comes in 50-pound bags. Orders must be placed at the con ops office before 2pm every day in order to get ice that same night. Payment must be made in cash, up front, at the time of ordering. The 2pm deadline is due to the Ice company requesting a 4-hour lead time (normally they require 2 days) and this lead time is based on a 6pm delivery time. Ordering for future days is allowed (fill in the form for that day) and is also encouraged.

DELIVERY
Ice will be delivered around 6pm to the 5th floor pool deck. You will have to fetch it from there before 6:45 or it will be disposed of. Please don't be late -- ice melts and the hotel don't want a mess. No refunds will be given for unclaimed ice. We reserve the right to cancel/refuse later orders for groups failing to collect their ice.

Remember that 50-pounds is heavy, so make sure you get help.
